1 Pot Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese

1 Pot Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese Recipe

  • Stage: Toddler 12+ months


  • 1 8oz box whole wheat pasta
  • 3 cups milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme, plus more for topping
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 2 2oz packs Gerber Butternut Squash Puree
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • Pepper, to taste


  1. In a saucepan, add the pasta, milk, butter, and spices. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low. Cook on low for 20 minutes, stirring regularly. If at any point the noodles look dry, add another splash of milk or water.
  2. After 20 minutes, add the cream cheese and butternut squash puree and gently mix. Remove from heat, and add the cheddar and parmesan cheeses. Let sit for a few minutes before serving. Top with dried thyme and pepper and serve.
